After much planning, and much worrying, my Europe trip has begun. Flying Virgin Atlantic from New York to London I was surprised by how decent the food was- vegetarian lasagna, a salad I didn’t touch, cheese and crackers, a better than average key lime cheese cake, and a choice of wine. The only downside to the flight was that I didn’t get a wink of sleep. Luckily the on-demand style TV/ movie choices were extensive and so I was fully entertained. Upon arriving to London I made my way to the hostel- having to change routes do to fatalities on the tracks (I never go the whole story on that.) The hostel isn’t the best I’ve stayed in, but it isn’t the worst either. I wish I had been able to get a single room- but luckily it’s a girl’s only room and so far no one else is in the room.

The location of the hostel is prime- a quick walk to the Millennium Bridge, and Tate Modern (which is where I spent the afternoon after a much needed nap.) Overall I wasn't too impressed by the Millennium Bridge.

This slides are part of an upcoming exhibit and were in the process of being de-installed. I wish I had been there in time to go down them.

I also walked around the neighborhood I am staying in- its very business, with almost everyone in suite. I was a bit disgusted by how murky brown the Thames is.

Afterwards I had a nice dinner at a French café a block down the road from the hostel. For the dinner I had fried Camembert, a garden salad, warm breadsticks, and a beer from the Alsace region. Tonight will be an early night.

I almost didn't see the turtle at first! ...I hope you didn't throw him off the millennium bridge :0
Don't start a fire on those slides! Do mind the gap/death trap.
love and miss you!
