For breakfast we rode the bikes down to a cheesy, touristy, but good restaurant on a canal about 15 minutes from our hotel. Hart had strawberry waffles, I had strawberry poffertjes, and Adrien had the “English Breakfast.” Last time I was in Amsterdam I saw signs everywhere for the “English Breakfast” but certainly did not eat it.

After breakfast we rode to see a building designed by Steven Hall that Hart had been lusting after for a while. The building is situated on a canal behind a historic building. The buildings are office spaces for some kind of social services housing organization. The woman who was sitting at the front desk was nice and let us go into the space and take lots of pictures.

We rode around the city for a while, doing some shopping, doing some sightseeing, goofing off a playground.

For lunch we at a nice place I had eaten at last time I was in Amsterdam. (http://www.brasserieharkema.nl/) Adrien had a couple of beautiful fish, and Hart had a cheeseburger. My fresh spaghetti didn’t make it into the picture.

In the afternoon we tried going to a contemporary Art Museum but ended up at a new amazing library next door instead. These are just a couple of pictures of the library and I would be happy to share more with anyone who is interested.

For dinner we went to a delicious restaurant, van harte, were we saved money by just eating delicious appetizers, and even better deserts.
